Care to look at this random part of my story?
I often write in short bursts at random parts lol, and this is a semi-main conflict point if that makes any sense =p. It happens after the main conflict, anyway, here it is (oh and yeah, I'm from Australia, so grey IS spelt right =p):
“So basically what you're saying Marsha,” Jaymie said, saying Marsha's name like a dirty word, “we are each a Greek element, but there is nothing else Greek about us becoming these?”
Marsha shook her head, “Nope, none at all. I'm basically a watcher, you kill demons using the Greek elements, but there is nothing else that you have to do that is Greek.”
“This is ridiculous!” Jacob exclaimed.
Marsha gave him a sympathetic smile. “I know it's all hard to take in, but you will come out on top, and you will protect the world. Now, do you want to know who your leader will be?”
It was easy to guess, thought Jaymie. It'll be Melanie. The only one of us who actually loves her powers and loves to help people.
“Jaymie,” said Marsha.
“What?” Jaymie asked looking up, she must of misheard.
“You're the leader,” Marsha announced, “and therefore, your power will be fire.”
Marsha stepped forward and handed Jaymie a necklace.
“T..thanks,” Jaymie stammered, she looked at the necklace closely. It was black black background and had a red swirling symbol in the middle. Jaymie put it on.
“Jacob,” Marsha said, taking a step towards him. “Because of your risk-taking approach to things and carefree attitude, you will be wind.”
Marsha handed him a necklace the same as Jaymie's, but his had a grey swirling symbol.
Jacob wrinkled his nose. “I am not wearing a necklace.”
“Put it on,” Jaymie growled.
Jacob gave her a withering look, but obliged. Marsha nodded and moved on.
“Benjamin,” she said. “I have given you the element of water.”
Marsha handed Ben his emblem and he took it hesitantly. I could sense that he really didn't want to have such a huge responsibility on his shoulders.
“And last of all, darling Melanie,” Marsha said with a smile, “For your unique, calm and caring personality, you have the power of Earth.”
Melanie gave Marsha a hug and accepted the emblem, smiling and clasping it on around her neck. “Thank you.”
I've got most of it written lol, so if I happen to get this published, it will be there lose. Plus I don't really care if someone steals it, I doubt they'll keep it exactly the same and it's not like it's my whole idea anyway.
