Am I racist (I asked this before but it was a different section so I want to get your opinions.)?
This is a serious question. Ok, my parents are from Ireland so I'm a first-generation white American teenager. Anyway, I always get mad at my sister because she's racist and doesn't care. She says hat she would never marry anyone that wasn't 100% Irish, and I say that's stupid because we're all equal and the color of someone's skin and a few basic other things doesn't change who they are as a person, etc.
Anyway, I love black people and I've been to Memphis, Tennessee twice on vacation and I've been to see B.B King in concert and I just love the way black people act and I love their wittiness and creativity and facial expressions, etc. Actually I probably like black people more than white people. White people just really piss me off. BUT I would never marry anyone that isn't white. I don't know why, I just wouldn't do it. All my friends are foreigners, e.g. vietnamese, persian, mexican, etc. I have no white friends. But I would only ever marry a white person and that pisses me off that I think that way because I don't want to be racist.
So am I a dirty racist or not? Please be completely honest, this is really bugging me lately.
By the way, I don't want to marry an Irish girl because I think they are too white. I want to marry like an Italian girl, someone of that coloring that is European.
So to sum it up: I don't like white people for the most part, and I find that blacks and Mexicans are much friendlier and NONE of my friends are white, BUT I would never marry someone that isn't of European origin nor would I marry anyone from Northern Europe because they are too white.
Be honest. Am I racist?
newyorkc- I live in the United States. If you could read, you would have noticed that MY PARENTS are from Ireland. And there are plenty of black people in Ireland anyway.
I live in Los Angeles and I don't like the way white people act here. My parents are from a different country so I can relate to minorities (except obviosuly black people). But black black people are just so good-natured and nice, creative, great people. That's just from my experiences, I'm not saying all white people are the same or all black people.
I think you're trying to sound smarter than you actually are. You should stop, you're confusing yourself.
D_to_tha- I don't have light skin. My parents are from Ireland but I'm more tanned than most Italians. My dad has black hair, brown eyes, and olivy skin.
I don't like pale blonde girls, I like Italian girls. And also, I take part in stopping my sister from being racist. I tell her it's sick to think that way, and that our skin color isn't going to matter in heaven. I tell her that humans share 99.9999% of similarities and that a few basic genetic phenotype differences shouldn't matter. But then on the one hand, I feel guilty as I say this because I know deep down I would never marry a black person. That's why I asked the question.
